Discord + Campfire Socials
Start Here. Meet the Community.
You do not have to sign up for a retreat to become part of The Foxhole Project.
For many people, the first step is simply joining the conversation.
Our Discord community and Campfire Socials give Service Members, Veterans, and their Families a low-pressure way to meet people, learn what Foxhole is about, and begin building connections before heading into the outdoors with us.
There is no expectation to share your story. You do not need to know anyone. You do not need outdoor experience.
Just show up.
Discord
Our Discord community keeps people connected between in-person events.
It is a place to talk, meet other members of the community, join game nights, learn about upcoming events, share resources, and stay connected when getting together in person is not possible.
For someone considering their first Foxhole event, Discord also gives them a chance to recognize a few names and faces before they arrive.
You can participate as much or as little as you want.
Campfire Socials
Campfire Socials are informal community gatherings built around food, conversation, and time together.
There is no formal agenda and no pressure to participate in anything beyond what feels comfortable.
Come sit by the fire. Grab something to eat. Talk with someone new. Bring your family. Stay for a little while or spend the evening with us.
The goal is simple: give people a place to connect.
Why We Start Here
Walking into a weekend retreat with people you have never met can be uncomfortable.
We want to lower that barrier.
Joining the Discord community or attending a Campfire Social gives you an opportunity to get a feel for the people, the culture, and the organization before taking the next step into a Waypoint Retreat.
What Campfire Is Not
Campfire Socials and Discord are not counseling, therapy, or clinical support groups.
They are places to build community, reconnect with the kind of camaraderie many of us miss after service, and find people you may want to spend more time with.
No pressure. No expectation. Just a place to start.
