Our Journey Begins Here
Explore Our Story

The Foxhole Project was born from a simple truth: healing happens together.
Too many veterans return home only to feel more isolated than ever. We’ve felt that loneliness—the silence after the storm, the loss of purpose, the gap where connection used to be. So we built something different. What started as a few conversations around a campfire has grown into a mission-driven nonprofit rooted in the San Luis Valley. Our goal is to recreate the kind of trust and camaraderie we found in service—this time, under open skies, around shared meals, and through meaningful conversations in the dirt. We’re not here to fix anyone. We’re here to walk beside you. Just like in the foxhole.
Empowering Veterans Every Day

Veteran-Founded. Purpose-Driven.
The Foxhole Project was founded by a service-connected disabled U.S. Army veteran who knows firsthand what it means to feel disconnected after service. Built from lived experience and personal healing, our mission is to create spaces where veterans, service members, and their families can reconnect, find purpose, and grow—together. Through overland retreats, campfire circles, and hands-on skill-building, we offer a place where those who’ve worn the uniform can be seen, heard, and supported by peers who understand the weight of their journey.
Our Mission
To reconnect service members, veterans, and their families by fostering a strong, supportive community—through overland retreats, campfire circles, and skill-sharing—where they can rely on each other like battle buddies and share strength, stories, and purpose.
Our Vision
A connected veteran community where no one feels alone–where camaraderie is rekindled, healing is shared, and growth continues beyond service, across trails, campfires, and even rally points we create together.
Our Core Values
1. Camaraderie: We stand shoulder to shoulder, not above or apart.
We build bonds that reflect the foxhole mindset—mutual trust, shared strength, and having each other's six.
2. Growth Through Adversity: Struggle isn’t the end—it’s a place to begin again.
We believe in Post-Traumatic Growth. Veterans can heal, lead, and grow beyond trauma—together.
3. Purpose and Agency: Everyone has something to offer.
We empower veterans to reclaim their roles as leaders, mentors, and capable human beings with practical value.
4. Community-Led Healing: We heal best in circles, not silos.
We trust in peer support, shared stories, and connection—not top-down solutions or clinical barriers.
5. Integrity and Honor: We do what we say—and we own our impact.
We operate with transparency, accountability, and respect for those we serve.
6. Inclusion and Respect: Every service story is valid. Every voice matters.
We serve veterans of all branches, eras, backgrounds, and identities—because no one heals alone.
